DaMiNo with filmmaker Devin Febbroriello

Playing with conventions of sight, sound, and narrative structure, DaMiNo will be improvising to a film by Devin Febbroriello with an audio-reactive A/V element.

Tasting notes: unhinged, cerebral, meditative, aleatoric

The DaMiNo trio consists of trumpeter Noah Simpson, guitarist Mike Gamble, and drummer Daniel Rossi. Individually, they have been performing in the jazz, experimental, singer-songwriter, neo-soul, and rock scene in Portland for over 10 years.

Within the last 12 months, DaMiNo has recorded, mixed, and released two separate EPs on the Portland-based record label As:Is. On December 31st, 2022 the trio had their first recording session at Barra Brown’s Home Room Labs Studio in NE Portland. Within the next few months the series of collected grooves, melodious and harmonious interplay, and general trust and spontaneity were all funneled through the mixing process of bassist and producer Andrew Jones and Full Bonk Studios. Courtesy of the Music Oregon Echo Fund, their next album will be recorded in New York City at Shahzad Ismaily’s studio Figure 8 and will be released in 2024.

Devin Jane Febbroriello is a North American Screenwriter / Director, + Producer that specializes in the creation of thought-provoking stories centered on women, complex relationship dramas, and humor. She has been celebrated for her visually astute music video direction and her keen ability to generate evocative characters within complex multi-genre plots to cultivate deeply emotive and entertaining stories.
