Montavilla Jazz Festival takes place September 4–6, 2026. Opening Night is Friday, September 4, followed by a full weekend of performances and activities on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6.

The festival takes place at five venues across Portland:

• Alberta Rose Theatre — 3000 NE Alberta Street
• SoundsTruck NW at Montavilla Plaza — SE 79th Avenue and SE Stark Street
• Portland Metro Arts — 9003 SE Stark Street
• Caldera Amphitheater at Mt. Tabor Park — near SE 60th Avenue and SE Salmon Street
• Show Bar — 1300 SE Stark Street, Suite 101

Additional no-cover programming takes place at Montavilla Jazz Village Partner locations.

Friday, September 4: Alberta Rose Theatre doors open at 6:30 PM.

Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6:

• Montavilla Plaza: Gates are open from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Portland Metro Arts: Doors are open from 10:30 AM–5:30 PM.
• Mt. Tabor: The site is open to the public from 12:00–3:30 PM. Gates open at 4:30 PM for the evening performances,  and the site closes at 9:00 PM.

The festival includes both ticketed and no-cover programming.

General Admission or VIP festival passes are required for performances at Mt. Tabor, Portland Metro Arts, and Montavilla Plaza. Alberta Rose Theatre and Show Bar require separate tickets.

All programming at the eight Jazz Village Partner locations is no-cover and all ages.

Children ages 12 and under attend eligible festival-pass events free of charge but must have a blue youth wristband. Guests with a valid Oregon Trail Card may also purchase $5 festival wristbands through the Arts for All program.

General Admission and VIP day and weekend passes provide access to performances at:

Festival passes also include access to the complimentary intervenue festival shuttle on Saturday and Sunday.

Re-entry is permitted at Mt. Tabor, Portland Metro Arts, and Montavilla Plaza so guests may move between festival venues throughout the day.

VIP passes also include access to designated VIP amenities. At Mt. Tabor, the Sokol Blosser VIP Experience includes wine tasting and complimentary snacks.

No. Alberta Rose Theatre and Show Bar are separately ticketed venues and are not included with General Admission or VIP festival passes.

Montavilla Jazz Festival and all Jazz Village programming are all-ages.

Yes. Tickets and festival passes may be purchased at festival Box Office locations during their operating hours, subject to availability and venue capacity.

Guests with a valid Oregon Trail Card may purchase $5 Arts for All festival wristbands at festival Box Offices. Arts for All wristbands are limited to two per card and cannot be purchased in advance.

Wristbands are distributed at festival Box Office and Will Call locations during the following hours on Saturday and Sunday:

• Montavilla Plaza: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Portland Metro Arts: 10:30 AM–5:30 PM
• Mt. Tabor: 12:00–8:00 PM

You may pick up your wristband at any of these locations during their operating hours.

General parking around Mt. Tabor and throughout the Montavilla neighborhood is limited to street parking.

Please allow extra travel time, observe all posted parking restrictions, and avoid blocking driveways or neighborhood access.

Whenever possible, guests are encouraged to use TriMet, bicycle parking, or the complimentary festival shuttle rather than driving to Mt. Tabor.

Yes. A complimentary intervenue shuttle operates on Saturday and Sunday. 

Shuttle service is included with all festival passes and operates on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00–10:00 PM.

The shuttle serves Portland Metro Arts, Montavilla Brew Works, and Mt. Tabor. The Montavilla Brew Works stop also serves the Jazz Village and nearby Montavilla Plaza.

Yes. Accessible parking and seating are available at Portland Metro Arts, Mt. Tabor, and Montavilla Plaza.

Accessible parking is limited, requires an advance reservation, and is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Email accessibility@montavillajazz.org in advance to reserve accessible parking or request assistance planning your arrival.

Guests who need an accessible arrival at Mt. Tabor should enter the park from the north, traveling from SE 69th Avenue onto SE Salmon Way. Accessible parking is limited and requires an advance reservation.

Yes. The Volcano Vendor Village at Mt. Tabor includes food and beverage vendors, community partners, festival merchandise, and local organizations.

Food vendors operate Saturday and Sunday during the following hours:

Food vendors take a service break from 3:30–4:30 PM.

Beverage options include the Festival Bar operated by Oregon Beverage Services, a Portland Cider Co. tasting and cornhole activation, and the Sokol Blosser VIP Experience. Portland Cider’s cornhole activity is open to all ages; cider tasting is limited to guests 21 and older.

Additional food and drink options are available nearby at participating Jazz Village restaurants, cafés, breweries, and wine bars, including Threshold Brewing & Blending, Montavilla Brew Works, Vino Veritas, and Bipartisan Cafe.

Outside food and alcohol are not permitted at festival venues.

Clear water bottles are allowed. Water stations are available at each of the five festival venues.

At Mt. Tabor, alcoholic beverages will be available from the Festival Bar operated by Oregon Beverage Services.

Portland Cider Co. will offer cider tasting for guests 21 and older, along with an all-ages cornhole activity. VIP guests may also visit the Sokol Blosser VIP Experience for wine tasting and complimentary snacks.

Alcoholic beverages are also available from participating licensed Jazz Village businesses, including Montavilla Brew Works, Threshold Brewing & Blending, Vino Veritas, Replicant Bar, and Gigantic Robot Room.

Outside alcohol is not permitted.

The Montavilla Jazz Village is a network of neighborhood businesses offering no-cover live music, festival activities, food and drink, and special perks for festival wristband holders.

All festival programming at Jazz Village Partner locations is no-cover and all ages. Guests are encouraged to explore the neighborhood, support local businesses, and enjoy additional music throughout festival weekend.

Replicant Bar / Mudd Works Cafe — Receive $1 off coffee drinks, wine by the glass, and draft beer. Espresso and drip coffee are available until 3:00 PM, and cold brew is available all day. The venue will also host live Village Stage music.

Threshold Brewing & Blending — Receive 20% off all purchases throughout festival weekend. Threshold will also host live Village Stage music and serve Polish Kitchen favorites, including pierogi, sausage dogs, and zapiekanka.

Bring your ticket confirmation or festival wristband, a clear water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, and a low-back lawn chair for outdoor festival sites.

Guests who plan to purchase or consume alcohol should also bring valid photo identification.

• Professional camera or video equipment without advance authorization

Medically necessary food and infant food are permitted.

Yes. Low-back lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged at Mt. Tabor. Seating is provided at Montavilla Plaza.

Montavilla Jazz Festival includes both indoor and outdoor programming. Outdoor programming may continue in rain, but the festival may delay, pause, relocate, or cancel performances or activities because of lightning, high winds, extreme heat, smoke, poor air quality, or other unsafe conditions.

Schedule, weather, and emergency updates will be posted on the Montavilla Jazz Festival website and Montavilla Jazz’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

All ticket and festival-pass sales are final and nonrefundable. Refunds will not be issued for performer changes, schedule changes, delays, relocations, weather interruptions, emergency conditions, or cancellations.

First aid and information services are available at each of the five festival venues or sites.

For day-of assistance, visit the information booth or ask the nearest festival staff member or volunteer. In an immediate or life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Children who become separated from their guardian or group will be brought to the information booth at that venue or site.

Lost-and-found service is available at each festival venue or site. During the festival, visit the information booth at the location where the item was lost or speak with the nearest festival staff member or volunteer.
