Chris Shuttleworth Chicago Quartet
Sunday, September 1st, 2024, 10:00PM – Dingo’s (formerly Beer Brats & Beats)
With a sound born in Chicago’s jazz scene and grounded in an unabashed search for beauty and melody, this quartet bridges the Windy City and the Pacific Northwest, creating something unified that is both entirely fresh and completely approachable.
Tasting notes: lush, highwire, visceral
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Chris Shuttleworth moved to Chicago to pursue a Jazz Studies degree at the prestigious DePaul University School of Music, where he studied under a number of staples of the Chicago music scene, including Dennis Carroll, Mark Fisher, and Charles Vernon. He has shared the stage with many diverse acts ranging from jazz heavyweights such as Wycliffe Gordon, Matt Ulery, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Randy Brecker, Mike Reed, Ken Peplowski, Greg Ward, Chuck Israels, George Colligan, and Dana Hall, to pop acts including Beats Antique, Hellogoodbye, The Temptations, and The Four Tops. He has also toured extensively as a leader and a sideman, having performed in the majority of the United States as well as internationally as far as Shanghai. Chris’ debut record Document releases this fall on PJCE Records.
