Zyanna Trio: Dance of the Dragonfly / My Defiance

Anna “Zyanna” Meyer is a Portland and Los Angeles jazz and contemporary arranger, vocalist, and bassist. She was recently featured on two of George Colligan’s recent projects, The Phyllis Wheatley Project (2023) and You’ll Hear It (2024). Zyanna briefly lived in Los Angeles and collaborated with Astral Voyage — an International funk & soul collective. She released her first solo EP, Soul Angel (2023), featuring Los Angeles artists. In August of 2023, she became a vocalist with the Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Vocal Ensemble Tonality.

Zyanna became a bandleader for her trio in 2024 and has since found success as a jazz and contemporary electric bassist. Her trio blends the influences of R&B classics and jazz Standards with hip hop, spoken word, and experimental art rock. Her recent project “Dance of the Dragonfly”, released October 2024, features local Portland Musicians and Los Angeles saxophonist and creator, Nicole McCabe. Zyanna will be releasing a new project featuring their trio in 2026.
