Lineup: Dani Barker, voice; other musicians TBA
Dani Barker, also known as Dani Danger, is a Jamaican-American multi-genre artist with a smooth and soulful sound. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, FL, and currently residing in Portland, Oregon, her effortless blend of jazz, Caribbean influence, soul, and R&B is sure to perk the ears of any listener.
Dani moved to Portland in 2015 to pursue a career in jazz music. She started her journey at Portland State University and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Performance.
Shortly after arriving, Danielle appeared alongside Portland’s very own MJ New Quartet, was a featured artist at the Portland Jazz festival, and has obtained experience as a talent and stage manager for the Portland Night Market. In 2022, Dani debuted in her first theatre performance as the lead in Portland Playhouses’ 12-week run of Bella: An American Tall Tale and made her return in 2024 as Miss Honey in Matilda. Dani joined the PDX Jazz team as their new Education Outreach Manager in 2022. In this role, Miss Dani teaches Jazz history to underserved, predominantly minority K-12 schools. As an end-of-the-year project, her students create artwork that is featured in Portland’s own, the Portland Art Museum, as part of a yearly exhibit. Teacher by day, performer by night, she is also the lead singer of the Soulful Sundays home band, the Love Train, hosted at the Alberta Street Pub every Sunday. In 2023, joined Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe band as a featured vocalist and toured throughout the year.
