Rich Halley 4

Rich Halley has been a mainstay of the Portland creative jazz scene since the 1980s, and his records have garnered critical acclaim in many quarters, including on National Public Radio. This group explores new musical spaces and approaches using the roots of American and world music as sources with an emphasis on spontaneous and compositional group improvisation. Bill Meyer of DownBeat says, “Rich Halley’s music occupies the point where populism and freedom come together.” The 2015 Montavilla Jazz Festival is honored to be the platform for the release of Halley’s newest release, Eleven.
