Montavilla Jazz Festival 2015 to be held at Portland Metro Arts August 15–16
Montavilla Jazz Festival is back! After a successful inaugural year, Montavilla Jazz Festival will again explore new frontiers in jazz by featuring two days of cutting-edge original jazz performed by Portland-based artists. All 4 Naught, a project of internationally recognized pianist Darrell Grant, will headline. The festival is produced by Montavilla Neighborhood Association and is fiscally sponsored by Southeast Uplift, a coalition of 20 Portland neighborhoods.
New this year: This year the festival is proud to add a new element, the Montavilla Schools Music Fund, an effort dedicated to enriching the lives of children in Montavilla through the power of music education. The fund will earmark a portion of festival revenue for distribution to neighborhood public schools’ music education programs.
